Nothing is original, it is just the way the individual absorbs their surroundings and interprets them. My work has always been based on contrasting textures, which are inspired by patterns in my surroundings, both natural and manmade. I find discovering a new technique can also fire my imagination. My latest work uses a Korean technique of Keum boo, which fuses 24-carat gold onto silver using heat and pressure. I aim to produce jewellery which is contemporary but wearable. It has often been described as Classy but Edgy, a line I continue to use.
