Helen Miller

I am a painter who enjoys getting out into the countryside to draw and paint birds, animals, plants and insects: my work is based on the sketches I complete in the field. This captures the energy, activity and character of the birds and animals as well as the excitement, atmosphere and colour of the landscapes.

My paintings are stories, giving insights into the lives of animals and how they interact with their fellow creatures and landscape. The character and personality of the wildlife are also reflected in portraits that capture the textures and energy of the subjects. These stories and portraits may show the wildlife of Britain, or wildlife from places further afield. They are carried out in textiles and watercolour paint.
